LEAD AQUATICS OPERATOR / HEAD LIFEGUARD III Pratt Aquatic Center, Tooele, Utah Ready to take the lead-on deck and in the water? Tooele City is looking for a motivated, service-driven individual to join our leadership team as a full-time regular Lead Aquatics Operator / Head Lifeguard III . This isn't just a lifeguard role - it's an opportunity to mentor, train, and inspire the next generation of aquatics staff while helping create a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for our community. The Pratt Aquatic Center is an indoor facility open year round and we are closed on Sundays. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED (advanced education in exercise science, parks and recreation or similar field work is a plus).
  • Current Lifeguard, WSI Water Safety Instructor, CPR for the professional rescuer, and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain).
  • Valid driver's license, 12 months driver experience, and and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain Lifeguard Instructor certification within 12 months and Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT) within 12–18 months.
  • Ability to pass a background check and work in a position of trust around youth and vulnerable adults.
  • Must have flexibility in scheduling including working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior aquatics experience with increasing responsibility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Aquatics Superintendent providing leadership to on-duty staff, ensuring patron safety, enforcing facility rules, and responding to emergencies or unusual situations.
  • Trains, mentors, and develop a strong, confident lifeguard and swim instructor team.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service to patrons of all ages.
  • Coordinate staff schedules.
  • Develops, coordinates, and oversees a variety of aquatics programs such as swim lessons, lifeguard training, swim team, and other special events, as assigned.
