About The Position

Location: Altru Hospital 1200 South Columbia Road Grand Forks, ND 58201 Pay Range: $18.82 - $28.23 Summary: The Lead Anesthesia Technician plays a critical role in supporting safe and efficient anesthesia services across surgical and procedural areas. This position schedules anesthesia technicians, oversees daily setup and teardown of workstations, and serves as the primary contact for providers regarding technical support and equipment needs. The role includes managing inventory, ensuring proper calibration and preventive maintenance of anesthesia equipment, and troubleshooting complex malfunctions in collaboration with biomedical engineering. The Lead Technician maintains compliance with infection control and regulatory standards, trains and mentors staff, and contributes to audits, quality improvement, and process efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

  • Required: A minimum of 2 years Related Experience
  • This position requires proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and schedules anesthesia technicians, assigns tasks to ensure coverage across surgical and procedural areas.
  • Oversees daily setup and teardown of anesthesia workstations, equipment, and supplies.
  • Serves as primary contact for anesthesia providers, addressing technical support and equipment needs.
  • Manages inventory and preventive maintenance, coordinating with supply chain and documenting compliance with hospital policies.
  • Ensures equipment functionality and safety, including calibration, cleaning, troubleshooting, and coordination with biomedical engineering.
  • Maintains compliance with infection control, Joint Commission, OSHA, and hospital standards for anesthesia equipment.
  • Trains and educates anesthesia technicians, providing ongoing instruction on procedures, safety protocols, and new technologies.
  • Support audits, quality improvement, and administrative functions, including documentation, hiring assistance, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
