About The Position

The Lead Anaplan Model Builder position represents an exciting opportunity to develop Anaplan models and consulting support to the Budget, Planning, and Campus Strategy department, School of Medicine (SOM) and additional ad hoc requests from the Executive Vice Chancellor’s Office. The position will act as an Anaplan subject matter expert and will focus on creating and supporting complex models that incorporate data from Oracle PeopleSoft HCM and FIN. These insights will inform planning, policy decisions, and operational improvements. This position will also respond to recurring and ad hoc requests for information about projects overseen by the offices mentioned above. This position will manage day-to-day Anaplan operations, workflows and projects for the School of Medicine, under the Anaplan Center of Excellence (CoE). This includes strategically overseeing data collaboration across SOM and the institution and establishing governance and best practices to support transformation. This role will be a key model builder and contributor to the implementation of the Anaplan CoE within the School of Medicine and will be responsible for establishing a pivotal information technology framework focused on quality assurance, data analysis and integration, forecasting and projections, modelling, and process/workflow development. This role will independently manage the implementation and operationalization of the School of Medicine models such as the FTE Effort Reporting, GAP Analysis, Funds Flow Reconciliation, and Commitments. To be successful in this role, the incumbent will be able to: rapidly develop a deep understanding of the structures and data available in campus systems; build key relationships with campus partners in order to identify additional strategic data that may be available in school/college systems; and assist those partners in assessing needs, mechanisms, and procedures around effective data collection and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Library Science, Data Science or a closely related field.
  • At least four years of relevant Business Data Analytics, Financial Planning, or EPM administration experience, which includes two years of experience with Anaplan modeling and developing.
  • Anaplan Model Builder Certification or Solution Architect or Master Anaplanner.
  • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree and/or equivalent experience in a relevant subject area, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Library Science, or Data Science.
  • Certified Master Anaplanner.
  • Experience working in Financial Planning & Analysis and Human Resources.
  • Experience working with Oracle Peoplesoft.
  • Experience creating solution tools utilizing multiple sources of data.
  • Working knowledge in Financial Planning & Analysis and Human Resources.
  • Familiarity with best practices for data integrity, analysis, visualization, and security.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, relationships and data manipulation.
  • Ability to be self-sufficient understanding and documenting business requirements then translating them into a technology solution.
  • Highly motivated problem solver that is a tenacious learner, intellectually curious, and excited about learning new technologies.
