About The Position

Direct a crew of mechanics to perform day-to-day maintenance on various types of aircraft engines.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • A&P license is preferred, but a Power Plant license is required.
  • Must have 5 years of experience working on and troubleshooting turbine engines.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written directions to assigned staff.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • The candidate must be able to work overtime, weekends, and go on road trips within reason.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills pertinent to turbine engines.
  • Must be willing to obtain a run and taxi certificate for all Kalitta Air aircraft types.
  • One must be able to routinely lift 50 plus pounds, climb ladders, bend, twist and climb under engines while in engine stands

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Supervisor for the scheduling and assignment of daily job tasks.
  • Lead and direct subordinate crewmembers in the performance of job tasks.
  • Ensure that all identified maintenance discrepancies are documented properly.
  • Perform troubleshooting on various types of engines and assist in determining the proper course of maintenance action as needed.
  • Make sure all crewmembers are using the proper documentation and MM references.
  • Assist crew members with any maintenance tasks given.
  • Assist the supervisor in identifying needed training.
  • Assist the supervisor with identifying any safety-related issues that may come up.
  • Provide OJT to both licensed and non-licensed crewmembers as needed.
