We are seeking a highly skilled Lead AI Software and Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Agentic AI systems and Large Language Models (LLMs) to drive the development of next-generation intelligent software solutions. This role requires a unique blend of AI/ML knowledge, software engineering excellence, and architectural leadership to build robust, scalable, and production-grade KLA systems.

  • Architect and Develop AI-Driven Software: Design and implement production-quality software that integrates LLMs and agentic AI frameworks to deliver groundbreaking capabilities to our customers.
  • Code Quality and Software Design Leadership: With a focus on scalability and performance, help define and enforce best practices for clean, maintainable, and well-structured code.
  • LLM Integration & Optimization: Fine-tune, prompt-engineer, and orchestrate LLMs for specific business use cases.
  • Agentic AI Design: Build multi-step reasoning agents, tool-using agents, and autonomous workflows that interact with APIs, databases, and our existing codebases.
  • Collaborate & Mentor: Partner with cross-functional teams (ML engineers, product managers, and designers) and mentor engineers on AI-driven development practices.
  • Improve AI-Generated Code: Evaluate and refine LLM-generated code for correctness, performance, and maintainability. Develop feedback loops to enhance LLM coding capabilities.
  • Stay Ahead of Trends: Research and adopt emerging technologies in AI, LLMs, and software engineering to maintain technical leadership.
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in AI/ML-driven systems.
  • Proven expertise in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar languages for backend and AI integration.
  • Strong understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic AI frameworks to build modular AI software (e.g., DSPy, ell, LangChain, AutoGen)
  • Deep knowledge of software design principles, object-oriented programming and functional programming, system architecture, and code quality standards.
  • Familiarity with MLOps, model fine-tuning, and evaluation techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • KLA's total rewards package for employees may also include participation in performance incentive programs and eligibility for additional benefits including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life, and other voluntary benefits, 401(K) including company matching, employee stock purchase program (ESPP), student debt assistance, tuition reimbursement program, development and career growth opportunities and programs, financial planning benefits, wellness benefits including an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off and paid company holidays, and family care and bonding leave.
