About the Role We are seeking a Lead Product Software Engineer – AI to support an enterprise innovation team focused on building next‑generation AI solutions for professional users in the tax, accounting, and financial services sectors. This role sits within a fast‑moving, startup‑style environment that emphasizes co‑design with customers, rapid experimentation, and delivering measurable product value through AI. You’ll work closely with product managers, UX designers, engineers, and researchers to create intelligent workflows, document‑processing capabilities, and analytics features powered by modern AI technologies. This role is ideal for someone who adapts quickly to new technologies, communicates effectively across teams, thrives in collaborative environments, and is passionate about human-centric AI solutions that deliver real value to professionals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript preferred).
  • 1+ years of hands‑on experience with LLMs or AI systems (NLP preferred).
  • Full‑stack development capabilities.
  • Experience with Agile/XP (TDD/BDD, pair programming).
  • Proficiency with AI‑assisted coding tools.
  • Regular use of GenAI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) in development workflows.
  • 3+ years leading complex technical implementations.
  • Prior work in innovation teams or startup‑like environments.
  • Ability to operate in fast‑paced Agile environments with fluid but aligned roles.
  • Familiarity with modern AI/ML frameworks (LangChain, Hugging Face, OpenAI APIs).
  • Experience with vector databases and embeddings.
  • Strong understanding of prompt engineering and optimization.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Comfortable driving the adoption of new technologies across teams.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Customer-Centric Product Development: Co-design AI solutions with customers, focusing on real problems rather than technology-first approaches. Build human-centric AI features that deliver measurable value in fast feedback cycles.
  • Cross-Portfolio Innovation: Work across the product portfolio, enabling other teams while building AI solutions that can be applied to multiple products and customer segments.
  • Technical Leadership: Design and implement AI features using Python and modern frameworks. Build intelligent document processing, automated workflows, and AI-powered analytics with a focus on security, product experience, and scalability.
  • Close Collaboration: Work in a collaborative model where engineers understand business problems as deeply as technical solutions, partnering closely with product managers who prototype their own ideas.
