About The Position

As the Lead AI & Data Engineer, you will own the technical architecture and strategic roadmap for our next-generation cognitive enterprise. You will act as both a hands-on builder and a key decision-maker, moving us beyond static reporting to autonomous, agentic intelligence. Your primary focus will be to assess our current landscape (Yardi), select the optimal technology stack, and build a scalable Data Lakehouse foundation that powers advanced LLM and agentic workflows. You will collaborate closely with senior business leaders to define the "Build vs. Buy" strategy, manage vendor selection, and lead Organizational Change Management (OCM) to ensure adoption. Ultimately, your work will define the standards for how AI interacts with enterprise data, driving measurable efficiency and automation across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Proven experience designing and building cloud data infrastructure (Data Lakehouse, Medallion Architecture) on platforms like Azure, AWS, or Databricks.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (for AI/Orchestration) and SQL (for data modeling).
  • Solid understanding of Generative AI concepts, including RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), vector databases, and LLM orchestration (e.g., LangChain, Semantic Kernel).
  • Experience acting as a technical advisor to leadership, including translating technical roadmaps into business ROI and budget requirements.
  • Experience leading technical strategy, including vendor evaluation, roadmapping, and communicating trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the Real Estate industry or familiarity with ERP data structures (specifically Yardi).
  • Deep expertise in the Microsoft ecosystem (Fabric, Synapse, OneLake) as a potential infrastructure route.
  • Experience with Data Governance tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview) and implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
  • Background in Organizational Change Management (OCM) or technical evangelism within a company.
  • Experience deploying autonomous AI agents that can plan and execute multi-step workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to build a prioritized AI roadmap and manage the selection of vendors and tools ("Build vs. Buy").
  • Design and deploy a scalable Data Lakehouse environment to transform raw business data into queryable assets.
  • Develop and implement autonomous AI agents and RAG systems that can reason, plan, and execute tasks via API tools.
  • Establish and enforce data governance, compliance, and security standards (RBAC) across the AI estate.
  • Lead the engineering lifecycle from infrastructure setup to LLMOps (tracing, evaluation, versioning).
  • Drive Organizational Change Management (OCM) by training internal teams and fostering trust in new AI capabilities.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value to secure stakeholder buy-in.
