About The Position

Lead Agronomists/Animal Scientists at Eocene Environmental Group contribute to a positive experience for both clients and farmers by leading client projects, which includes items like, development of content for a variety of reports, discussing sustainability goals, and other deliverables. Lead Agronomists/Animal Scientists work collaboratively across the organization on various aspects of projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, Animal Science or a related field
  • At least three years of industry experience working within animal agriculture or row crop production
  • Travel to client offices, farms, industry conferences, and meetings
  • Ability to review environmental analysis data, soil tests, and other agricultural analyses for scientific evaluations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proofreading, editing, and attention to detail
  • Able to independently prioritize and complete tasks and manage time efficiently to help ensure project deliverables
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Tremendous organizational skills and tendencies
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Ability to travel for meetings with clients and site visits and to industry conferences as needed
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred animal agriculture experience within the swine industry or pork related industry
  • Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Agronomists/Animal scientists
  • Manage swine and row crop client data onboarding
  • Oversee and organize on-farm communication
  • Responsible for agronomic and livestock data verification and data checks
  • Assist with the development of content for client reports
  • Manages producer relationships with swine and row crop producers throughout a project
  • Communicate scientific explanations to various audiences
  • Develop detailed presentations, dashboards, and other project-related materials
  • Contributes to various projects within the Eocene client base
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with all levels of employees, both technical and non-technical
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings
  • Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s and Eocene Environmental Group’s culture of safety and employee ownership
  • Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follow all company policies and procedure
