About The Position

The Lead Aerospace Engineer for Safety and Mission Assurance at NASA will provide technical leadership and support for test operations safety, quality, and risk management. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science, or Computer Science from an accredited institution.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level, including leading teams in safety and quality objectives, performing safety hazard analyses, and providing contractor oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a coach and facilitator in coordinating team initiatives and policy implementation.
  • Provide aerospace engineering expertise for design, development, test, checkout, and readiness of advanced equipment and systems.
  • Monitor and report on team and individual work accomplishments and training needs.
  • Assist in identifying and eliminating unsafe conditions as part of the Center safety leadership.
  • Act as a technical liaison between the Contractor and the Contracting Officer, monitoring contractor performance.
