About The Position

Rush Copley Medical Center, in Aurora, Illinois, part of the Rush University System for Health network of hospitals, invites applications for the position of Lead Advanced Practice Provider (APP) at our Convenient Care clinical sites. Rush Copley Convenient Care serves walk-in patients with minor illnesses and acute injuries, performs school and sports physicals and provides immunizations. On site diagnostic services include Clia waived lab testing, X-ray and CT. Rush Copley Convenient Care has 7 sites and is open 7 days a week (including holidays) from 7:45am-7:30pm. The Lead APP role will be 0.80FTE clinical and 0.20FTE administrative and will supervise a team of approximately 20 APPs. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Lead will be responsible for creating call schedules, interviewing, evaluations, team development and recruitment. Candidate must possess strong clinical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or as a Physician Assistant.
  • Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position.
  • Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP) for Nurse Practitioners.
  • Must have Family Nurse Practitioner certification.
  • Maintains State of Illinois and Federal DEA license.
  • CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications.
  • Experience treating patients of all ages.
  • Procedural experience (simple laceration repair, I&D).
  • 3+ years experience as an APP with preferred experience in urgent care or emergency medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of approximately 20 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
  • Create call schedules for the APP team.
  • Conduct interviews and evaluations for team members.
  • Facilitate team development and recruitment efforts.
  • Provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care.
  • Promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care.
