About The Position

Are you an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant seeking to enhance your career through a leadership position while still making an immediate and life-changing impact on your patients from an office setting? Join our dynamic oncology and hematology team as a Lead Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, where you will provide advanced clinical care to patients while serving as a key leader for our Medical Oncology and Hematology team. This position is a hybrid of administrative and outpatient clinical duties. It allows for a high level of autonomy with team-based physician support clinically and leadership of a high functioning Advanced Practice Clinician team in inpatient and outpatient settings. The candidate must have previous Hematology and Medical Oncology experience. Daily schedule includes office visits, overseeing training for new NPs/PAs, evaluating NPs/PAs performance, overseeing chemotherapy infusion as needed, patient education, multidisciplinary oncology care with the support of a full office staff (MA's, OA's, phone triage nurses and infusion nurses). This is a highlighted service line in ChristianaCare with anticipated APC development and growth. The Lead Hematology/Oncology Advanced Practice Clinician position allows for work-life balance, working 5 days per week with some flexibility required for administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or graduate of an Accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Must have the ability to be licensed in the State of Delaware and meet credentialing requirements
  • Three years of Hem/Onc Nurse practitioner or Physician Assistant experience, leadership experience strongly preferred
  • ACLS certified

Nice To Haves

  • Malignant & benign hematology, medical Oncology, symptom management, triage and urgent care experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
