About The Position

The shift lead functions as a Shift Lead Registrar is responsibility to commit to the UHS Service Excellence Standards, register patients accurately and efficiently, perform initial financial screenings and counseling, collects money due at the time of service, and complies with all hospital and department policies and procedures. Additionally, the Shift Lead assists with the process of monitoring productivity, accuracy of registrations, patient flow, scheduling staff and training new staff members. Also provides input to job descriptions, evaluations, and employee counseling.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • 1 year registration experience required
  • Knowledge of insurance requirements and/or third party reimbursement
  • Able to communicate effectively and demonstrate service excellence through appropriate response and use of constructive problem solving techniques when confronted with different people or situations
  • Previous computer entry experience and able to type 40 WPM with accuracy in spelling
  • Use of effective communication skills which foster positive outcomes
  • Able to maintain a high awareness of patient satisfaction and team work
  • Able to pay attention to detail and work in a stressful environment

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree, preferred
  • Collections experience and Medical Terminology, preferred
