About The Position

The shift lead functions as a Shift Lead Registrar is responsibility to commit to the UHS Service Excellence Standards, register patients accurately and efficiently, perform initial financial screenings and counseling, collects money due at the time of service, and complies with all hospital and department policies and procedures. Additionally, the Shift Lead assists with the process of monitoring productivity, accuracy of registrations, patient flow, scheduling staff and training new staff members. Also provides input to job descriptions, evaluations, and employee counseling.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• 1 year registration experience required.
• Knowledge of insurance requirements and/or third party reimbursement.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate service excellence.
• Previous computer entry experience.
• Ability to type 40 WPM with accuracy in spelling.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a stressful environment.
• Collections experience and Medical Terminology preferred.
