About The Position

Wipro Limited is a leading technology services and consulting company focused on building innovative solutions that address clients' most complex digital transformation needs. We are looking for an SAP Basis technical subject matter expert with over 8 years of experience in leading and managing SAP systems administration. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, providing architectural guidance for implementation of fixes and corrective actions based on detailed root cause analysis (RCA). The role involves developing and refining best practices for the Basis Administration group and leading the team through continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in SAP Basis technical subject matter expertise
  • Proven experience in leading and managing SAP systems administration
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of technical infrastructure and networking
  • Experience performing installations, upgrades, system copies, data refreshes, disaster recovery, and archiving
  • Experience with ECC, R/3, HCM, CRM, EDI, HANA, BW, BOBJ, SCM, SRM, SAP NetWeaver, and SAP Solution Manager

Responsibilities

  • Provide adequate support in architecture planning, migration & installation for new projects in own tower (platform/dbase/middleware/backup)
  • Lead the structural/architectural design of a platform/middleware/database/backup according to various system requirements to ensure a highly scalable and extensible solution
  • Conduct technology capacity planning by reviewing the current and future requirements
  • Utilize and leverage the new features of all underlying technologies to ensure smooth functioning of the installed databases and applications/platforms
  • Strategize & implement disaster recovery plans and create and implement backup and recovery plans
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the tower
  • Troubleshoot any issues, conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and develop fixes to avoid similar issues
  • Plan for and manage upgradations, migration, maintenance, backup, installation and configuration functions for own tower
  • Review the technical performance of own tower and deploy ways to improve efficiency, fine-tune performance and reduce performance challenges
  • Develop shift roster for the team to ensure no disruption in the tower
  • Create and update SOPs, Data Responsibility Matrices, operations manuals, daily test plans, data architecture guidance etc.
  • Provide weekly status reports to the client leadership team and internal stakeholders on database activities regarding progress, updates, status, and next steps
  • Leverage technology to develop Service Improvement Plan (SIP) through automation and other initiatives for higher efficiency and effectiveness
