About the position

The Lead Administrative Program Specialist position at the Department of Defense involves leading a diverse team responsible for workforce management and administrative support. The incumbent will develop, initiate, and implement administrative policies and procedures, manage operations-wide administrative support programs, and ensure effective use of personnel and materials. This role is crucial for maintaining organizational efficiency and compliance with Department of Defense regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team in identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks among employees according to established workflow and skill levels.
  • Manage one or more operations-wide administrative support programs.
  • Analyze and evaluate administrative procedures for effective use of personnel and materials.
  • Serve as the DSCU CATMS manager.
  • Develop and communicate DSCU operations division budget requirements to the DSCU budget office and consolidate inputs for review.
  • Provide guidance, assistance, and training to faculty and staff on the application of DSCU policies and procedures as they relate to DoD and DSCA policies.
  • Conduct special projects and studies of internal organizations and management systems that may impact senior leaders' organizational structures and workflow.
  • Ensure compliance with DSCU Records Management, including Drive and Point, and maintain files and records management systems according to DoD regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, including leading a diverse team, developing administrative policies, and managing administrative support programs.
