Full Time; Day 8am - 4:30pm; provides off shift coverage when needed; REQUIRES: High School Diploma or GED and 3 years supervisory experience; previous addiction, recovery or treatment experience and bachelor's degree strongly preferred Job Duties: Responsible for directly supervising Addiction Specialist Staff, including the support they provide to patients and their facilitation of various recovery-oriented and safety responsibilities. Requires flexible work schedule to oversee various shifts (including evenings and weekends). Requires actively performing all the duties of the Addiction Specialist as a working member of the team. Fulfills all core duties of the Specialist position, including: Facilitates adjunct groups (i.e. new patient group, art/recreation/audio/video activities), 1st Step Group, 10th Step Group, Rap Group, workshops, community meetings, support groups, education groups and perform all associated duties, including documentation. Responsible for supervision of Addiction Specialists and ensuring that each Specialist has thorough knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of their job and implements them in a consistent and high-quality manner. Works a flexible schedule primarily during evenings and during the weekend and other days to provide supervision for Specialist Staff. Presents educational lectures to patients and family members. Responsible for Specialist Staff providing support to patients and to family members at Admissions and Visitor Days. Responsible for Specialist Staff providing appropriate response to crisis intervention when needed. Observes all applicable facility policies and procedures. In collaboration with management, responsible for Specialist Staffs' facilitation of various safety-oriented activities including roll call, room searches, safe departure for patient leaving AMA, and interventions with inappropriate or negative patients. In collaboration with management, develop staff schedules, coverage, and lecture/workshop schedules. Ensures appropriate staff assignments and division of activities to be facilitated by staff. Ensures coverage is provided for absent Specialist Staff as needed. In collaboration with management, recruits, interviews and selects applicants. Monitors daily, weekly, monthly staffing and vacation scheduling. Coordinates departmental orientation with all new team members. Coordinates performance evaluation process for all team members. Gathers and evaluates input regarding employee discipline prior to implementing to insure fairness and standardization throughout department. Consults with the Counseling Director and Human Resources before proceeding with disciplinary action. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
