About The Position

This position is for a team leader in the accounting field, specifically supporting the Accounts Maintenance and Control missions for Military Services and Defense Agency customers. The role involves providing professional accounting services, overseeing daily operations, and resolving complex accounting issues. The position requires a comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to operate within DoD Accounting systems.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
• Registered for Selective Service (males born after 12-31-1959).
• Suitable for Federal employment.
• Must have served 3 months after the latest competitive appointment in the Federal service.
• Obtain/Maintain Financial Management Certification.
• New employees must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field with 24 semester hours in accounting.
• At least 4 years of accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certification as a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of accountants supporting the Accounts Maintenance and Control missions for Military Services and Defense Agency customers.
• Provide professional accounting services in the interpretation and application of accounting and/or financial management principles, policies, and procedures.
• Oversee daily operations, providing analyses, guidance, and recommendations related to complex accounting issues.
• Operate in DoD Accounting systems and support system applications, General Ledger Accounting, Fund-Balance with Treasury, undistributed reconciliation, and metric reporting.
• Review regulatory directives/instructions and implement or recommend changes to existing system functions and accounting reporting policies.
