About The Position

The Beverage/Salad Lead will assist in all areas of the Beverage Plant. This Position will require coordinating daily production needs with supervisor; inventory management, unloading / loading trailers, including production work. Leads must be willing and able to assist in operating Beverage Plant equipment and assist in the training of Equipment Operators.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude with technical training and knowledge of all manufacturing equipment in the processing area (i.e. Blow Molder, Filler, Labeler, and Case Packer)
  • Ability to operate multiple “variety” equipment
  • Solid understanding of higher-level machinery (i.e. fillers, blending, pasteurizer)
  • Punctual, with an excellent attendance record
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Work with minimal or no supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively (orally and written)
  • Apply sound judgement, understand and carry out instructions to successfully complete specific goals furnished in written and oral form
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • High school diploma or GED; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years’ experience as an Equipment Operator in a similar production environment
  • Prior experience leading a diverse operational team

Responsibilities

  • Coaches and mentors machine operators to ensure their development and understanding of current and new technology
  • Monitor and log equipment values and parameters to include temperature and pressure gauges, indicators, and meters.
  • Track correct materials for all production requirements
  • Unload and prepare ingredients for daily processing.
  • Complete changeovers, CIP’s, PMs, clean and sanitize tools/equipment as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Identifying faults and troubleshooting equipment as required.
  • Ensuring all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety regulations.
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and performing regular safety checks on equipment.
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift
  • Maintain activity logs
  • Trains new personnel on proper operational procedures
  • Supports food safety, legality, and quality programs
  • Set-up, operate, monitor, and control process equipment to convert raw materials into final product.
  • Identify areas of waste and inefficiency within the production process and generate ideas to reduce and correct this timely.
  • Maintain housekeeping, Quality, and food safety standards in order to ensure SQF compliance
  • Experience with mechanical repairs (e.g., jams, using tools, making adjustments to equipment, etc.)
  • Subject matter expert in all production equipment
  • Ability to perform repairs and critical PMs
  • Collaborate with leadership on department needs for the day-to-day operations
  • Ability to compile and interpret data and identify trends (KPI)
  • Ability to describe and analyze equipment failures, quality concerns and scrap reduction
  • Other duties as assigned
