About The Position

HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, in Baytown, TX is looking for an LDAR Safety Supervisor to join their safety conscious team at a customer site! The LDAR Safety Supervisor is responsible for identifying workplace hazards, providing safety training, investigating incidents, developing safety policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, planning for emergencies, conducting safety inspections, maintaining accurate safety records, managing personal protective equipment, protecting the environment, and continuously improving safety practices to ensure the well-being of craft laborers. Ensure compliance with all Company policies/procedures and maintains/improves good customer relations by providing quality, timely industrial cleaning services. Requirements

  • Experience in Health & Safety
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Strong Communication and Organization
  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to recognize when there is missing or conflicting information
  • Ability to learn new database systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent + specialized training or 1 year college
  • TWIC, preferred
  • 5+ or more years of experience in a health & safety role in an industrial setting;
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Knowledge of respective Federal (i.e. OSHA), Provincial and/ or State Occupational Safety and Health Regulations
  • Have a COSS or NCSO Certification

Responsibilities

  • Conducts studies and investigations to ensure compliance with government safety and health laws, standards and regulations, and industrial hygiene.
  • Assist and coach site management to perform safety functions including conducting formal investigations, facilitating periodic safety meetings, coordinating safe work procedure development/revision, performing job hazard assessment processes, and implementing worker safety education.
  • Assist and guide Company management with the effective and efficient implementation and administration of corporate safety compliance program directives and provisions, including advising on and making safety conscious decisions in support of Company, client, and subcontractor personnel, according to governmental regulations, safety codes, and mandated corporate and external compliance measures.
  • Monitor, coordinate, and consult with Company, subcontractor, and client personnel to ensure health and safety compliance with the client site, project policies, procedures, and guidelines, including monitoring the administration of the corporate safety program for the assigned site(s) or project(s) for items such as supervisory and base inspections, regional incident trends, safety meetings, permits, Job Hazard Assessments, Site Health and Safety Plans, etc).
  • Audit training records of Company personnel for assigned organizational entities to ensure that minimum training requirements, stipulated in the Safety Standards Manual and by clients, are being met; Facilitate in-house training programs in such areas as new hire orientation, WHMIS, TDG, CSTS, air-purifying respirator fit testing, etc., including developing, coordinating and/ or administering safety training programs.
