General Dynamics Mission Systems has an opening for a LCS DEPS Mission Package General Technician Meets DoD SkillBridge Qualifications as per DODI 1322.29. Objectives - Intern program participants will receive training and job-shadowing opportunities to gain skills to meet the specific needs of the organization and will be prepared to meet the GDMS mission in “providing smarter mission critical systems and products to defense, civil government, intelligence and cybersecurity customers”. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on GDMS leadership expectations, company history, customer / stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities. Requirements

DoD SkillBridge Eligibility: Has served at least 180 days on active duty
Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
Will receive an honorable discharge
Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.
The LCS DEPS Mission Package Maintenance Technician will be expected to become completely familiar with their system, with the goal of becoming the Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Candidate will be required to perform physically demanding work, to include working aloft, in tight, restricted spaces onboard LCS Platforms, climbing scaffolding, ladders and standing for long periods of time onboard a LCS ship or pier and be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
Must be able to pass forklift operators physical and proficiency tests
The candidate may be responsible for working with a team of technicians, engineers, and government staff as appropriate
Exercise creative thinking to advance our technical performance
Experience with Navy maintenance, to include Ships Maintenance and Material Management (3M), Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance.
This individual must have strong oral and written communication skills and be proficient with typical PC applications to include Word, Project, Excel and Access
Professional etiquette and ability to operate effectively in a distributed team environment and effectively communicate customer initiatives, strategy and mission needs
