The Apprentice position at CenterPoint Energy is designed for individuals who may advance to a Journeyman Lineman Level position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship skill training program. The apprenticeship for Meter Tester & Installer consists of six, 6-month training steps. To progress from one apprenticeship period to the next, the apprentice must successfully complete all requirements of the six training steps, including written, oral, and demonstration skill tests learned through on-the-job and classroom training.
