About The Position
As an LC-MS/MS Operator you will be perform batch injections, monitor instrument performance throughout the injection, and communicate any issues to management. The LC-MS/MS Operator will work with scientists and analysts to insure extracted samples are run and injected efficiently on LC-MS/MS instrumentation to meet client deadlines. The operator will be responsible for the generation of high-quality data and following all SOPs and plans. This role will onboard during the day shift and then move to second shift after onboarding.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Immunology/Biology/Chemistry or other scientific related discipline
Nice To Haves
- 1 to 3 years of laboratory experience
- Experience in a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and CRO environment
- Experience with LC-MS instrumentation and software
- Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Experience with Shimadzu and SCIEX instrumentation
- Experience with Watson
Responsibilities
- Communicate with scientists and analysts daily to prioritize instrumentation usage.
- Perform preliminary LC-MS/MS system tests.
- Start batches of various types of projects and for all LC-MS laboratory team members.
- Follow the batches performance to promptly identify possible problems (e.g.: retention time shifting, sensitivity drops, instrument communication problems).
- Monitor instrument performance throughout the injection to perform troubleshooting, system interruption, and batch reinjection procedures and intervenes when necessary.
- Complete supplementary information forms as needed.
- Perform specific instrument optimization on mass spectrometers.
- Assist pre-study meetings.
- Responsible for appropriate column care (e.g.: maintenance, rinsing, replacement).
- Create and maintain the daily injection schedule establishing project priorities with the team managers as needed.
- Conduct all work in compliance with applicable SOPs, GLPs, and observe all company guidelines and policies.
- RespectHealth and Safety standards in terms or personal protection, laboratory maintenance, and work procedures
- May perform extractions as needed.
