Job Summary Responsible for the management, authorization, and training for the LC group. Conducts testing on a wide variety of raw material, nutritional supplements, foods, cosmetics, and other related materials. Other authorization/duties as assigned by the Lab Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in chemistry or related science field required.
  • Experience with U/HPLC required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with linear regression, distribution, and variance analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management, authorization, and training for the LC group and its employees.
  • Experience with U/HPLC analysis required.
  • Understanding of other common analytical approaches (e.g. GC, ICP, UV/Vis, TLC, spectroscopy, wet chemistry, ELISA, etc.).
  • Conducts testing on a wide variety of raw material, nutritional supplements, foods, cosmetics, and other related materials.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and improvement of analytical procedures.
  • Maintain laboratory records and properly document results.
  • Maintain reasonable turnaround times.
  • Follows good laboratory practice (GLP).
  • Complies with all safety regulations while working in the lab and handling hazardous materials.
  • Represents the lab in the area of expertise.
  • Participates in creating and updating written protocols and SOPs.
  • Performs minor instrumentation maintenance.
  • Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
