About The Position

The Layout Inspector - CMM position involves operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using specialized software such as Calypso and Zeiss. The role requires proficiency in CMM programming and the ability to perform plate layouts effectively. Inspectors will utilize precision hard gaging techniques and various measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met. This position also entails reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine inspection criteria, as well as processing inspection paperwork and recording results. Collaboration with quality, engineering, and production teams is essential to resolve any quality issues that may arise. Adherence to safety and quality procedures is mandatory, and additional duties may be assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Operate and program CMM machines using software such as Calypso and Zeiss
• Perform plate layouts while being proficient in CMM programming and usage
• Perform inspections using precision hard gaging techniques, including micrometers, calipers, plug gages, and other precision measuring tools
• Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and specifications to determine inspection criteria
• Process inspection paperwork and record results
• Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production teams to resolve quality issues
• Follow safety and quality procedures at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
