About The Position

The Layout Engineer is responsible for supporting project and field operations through providing accurate and timely field layouts that guide construction progress. This role is essential to ensuring projects are built with precision and efficiency and will directly contribute to team success. Duties and Responsibilities Project Startup: Check site control to ensure all aspects are within tolerance to continue. Coordinate with project team to determine when and how work will proceed. Ensure all layout materials are readily available. Project Maintenance: Complete daily layout needs for the project, proactively staying ahead of field work. These needs will be established in team up by the field team. Communicate with field team to schedule future activities. Coordinate the necessary as-built information and capture/record it. Ensure each project meets quality/layout standards as determined by the team. Additional Responsibilities: Maintain and clean equipment to ensure proper functionality. Proactively request supplies and materials as needed. Actively participate in safety programs and adhere to all jobsite safety standards. QA/QC of the project to assist the project team in minimizing rework. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand construction drawings.
  • Ability to learn and utilize applicable construction technologies related to role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to negotiate, resolve conflicts, and communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders professionally and respectfully.
  • Must be highly trustworthy, self-motivated, organized, able to work independently, and forward thinking.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the workplace(s)/ job location(s).
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check related to driving.
  • Ability to pass drug screening.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of construction experience.
  • Experience in commercial concrete construction is preferred.
  • Experience with AUTOCAD, Bluebeam, and/or related software.
  • Experience operating a total station.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
