Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred. Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview. This position is responsible for the daily activities and upkeep of the Import 2 facility. Other duties may be assigned and/or change during any trial.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.
  • Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
  • Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
  • Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • Will occasionally lift and/or move, using two Team Members, up to 80 pounds to move items such as bird coops.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift on multiple floor surfaces (concrete floor, shavings); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop/bend repeatedly; climbing/ladder usage; talk or hear; drive a vehicle within the farm complex.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments.
  • Safety Glasses, Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, rain suit and farm issued footwear are required.
  • Ear plugs and safety glasses will be used as required.
  • TM is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment.
  • TM is expected to identify, address and mitigate safety related risks.

Responsibilities

  • Grading eggs which consist of observing shell color and texture, external characteristics such as size of yolk and size of egg. Places eggs on flats or into buggies. Uses light source to candle egg. Place broken, dirty or substandard eggs in container.
  • Maintain farm upkeep: weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual tasks.
  • Process/vaccinate birds.
  • Feeds and waters birds in accordance to schedule. Walks floors daily to examine birds for signs of illness or injury and treats according to instructions; pick up and dispose of mortality. Places pen partitions according to instructions.
  • Collect data, which includes but is not limited to the following duties: weighing birds and/or feed and recording data with pen/paper and/or tablet; segregate birds according to line and sex as instructed.
  • Remove used litter from houses; clean & disinfect poultry houses & all equipment; assist with bird movements as needed; place new shavings in poultry houses; brush hog, mow or weed eat around poultry houses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Clean break room and restrooms
  • Sanitize vehicle
  • Sanitation of boot rooms and equipment
  • Placing or rodent and other baits around buildings to control pest populations
  • Properly euthanize sick or injured chicks/birds in accordance with company policy
