About The Position

Since our acquisition in 2020, Yard Guard has grown exponentially from 300 to 4,000 customers. With a team of 25 employees, including technicians, office staff, and management, we've achieved a remarkable 40% revenue growth from 2024 to 2025, reaching $3.25 million. We specialize in lawn and tree care, offering services such as fertilization, weed control, disease and pest management for trees, and sprinkler winterizations. In the winter, our services include: Holiday Light installations and Snow Removal. Our services follow a subscription model, with several visits to our customers’ home per year, renewing annually. Committed to sustainability, we continually innovate with our proprietary Blended Organic program and Fully Organic Program, delivering top-notch service. Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a sustainable landscape, starting right in our own backyards. We are geared for growth. In five years, our expansion plan includes us adding three more locations on top of the existing Bozeman office. Following that, we hope to have up to 10 locations in 10 years. Bozeman will remain the corporate headquarters as we grow and will house the vast majority of our customer service/sales team.

Description: As a Lawn Technician at Yard Guard, you will be responsible for creating the healthy and beautiful space that our customers love to spend time in. Treating the lawn for weeds and maintaining a healthy, green lawn is our priority, while ensuring our customers receive outstanding service. Success as a Lawn Technician at Yard Guard means consistently delivering exceptional results that leave customers thrilled with the health and beauty of their lawns. You build trust through proactive communication, attention to detail, and professionalism, all while independently managing your daily tasks with efficiency. By ensuring customer satisfaction and identifying opportunities for improvement, you play a vital role in Yard Guard’s continued growth and reputation for excellence.

Requirements

• Has a valid driver’s license and clean(ish) driving record
• Can pass a background check
• Minimum of 18 years of age
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk 10+ miles per day
• Cannot currently be in school (High School or College). The schedule doesn’t work with our seasonal schedule
• You don’t need to know a thing about lawn care. If you have the other competencies, we can teach you the rest!

Responsibilities

• Apply lawn treatments, including fertilization and weed control to create healthy and vibrant landscapes.
• Evaluate lawns and diagnose issues such as pest infestations, disease, and nutrient deficiencies, offering the best solutions.
• Educate customers on proper lawn care practices and provide recommendations for service upgrades to meet their goals.
• Communicate daily with dispatch to manage schedules, relay updates, and resolve service-related challenges.
• Maintain accurate service records, including detailed notes
• Operate and maintain lawn care equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring it remains in top working condition.
• Stay informed about Yard Guard’s services and share their benefits with customers.
