The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago's Law Department is seeking a law student to serve as an intern for the summer of 2025. The Law Department will provide at least one substantive project from each of the major practice areas (Real Estate; Legislation, Contracts & Finance; Environmental, Construction, and Torts; Employment; and User Charge). Each project will challenge the intern to develop skills necessary to practice law, including legal research, issue identification, analytical reasoning, and writing including litigation pleadings, transactional documents and analytic memos. Expected work hours are 21 - 35 hours a week, 3 - 7 hours a day. All work hours will occur between 8:45 AM - 4:30 PM. The internship will be entirely in-person. Remote work is not an option for the internship.
