The Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy (DPA) is a nationally recognized statewide public defender system known for its exceptional training and education program. Its defense teams are dedicated to ensuring a fair criminal justice process, just results, and the protection of individual liberties. The DPA is seeking a Law Clerk to join the criminal defense team in the Boyd Trial Office. The organization values individuals who are committed to assisting the most vulnerable members of their communities. The ideal candidate will have recently completed all coursework at an ABA accredited law school to earn a JD degree and plans to take the next available bar exam, or has already obtained their license to practice law. This role requires exceptional planning and organizational skills, self-direction, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a defense team comprising attorneys, investigators, alternative sentencing workers, and office administrative staff. The DPA seeks individuals who recognize the privilege of representing clients on behalf of the people of Kentucky.
