About The Position

The Law Clerk supports the firm’s attorneys by performing a wide range of legal and administrative tasks. This role requires strong research, writing, and organizational skills to efficiently manage cases and deliver excellent client service. The Law Clerk receives daily direction from collaborating attorneys to ensure alignment with case strategies and firm objectives. While this position provides valuable hands-on experience and serves as a transitional role for individuals on their career path from law school to an associate attorney, it does not guarantee an offer for an associate position within the firm.

Requirements

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize information and present findings clearly.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
  • Enrolled as a 2nd or 3rd year law student or possess equivalent legal education.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology, procedures, and state/federal court systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
  • Maintain a minimum of 7.5 hours of tracked work daily, including both billable and non-billable tasks.
  • Meet or exceed annual billable hour goals, ensuring timely submission of time entries to support firm revenue objectives.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with document management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research on statutes, case law, regulations, and legal precedents to assist attorneys in case preparation. Prepare clear and concise memoranda summarizing findings.
  • Draft, review, and finalize legal documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, contracts, and correspondence, under attorney supervision.
  • Organize and maintain case files, monitor deadlines, and coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts to ensure cases progress efficiently.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and attorneys, maintaining clear and professional communication to provide updates and gather necessary information.
  • Draft legal memoranda, briefs, and other litigation-related documents as required.
  • Assist in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions by organizing exhibits, evidence, and legal documents.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of legal documents with courts and administrative agencies.
  • Accurately track and record time (billable and non-billable) daily for client matters in compliance with firm policies.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
