We are currently seeking an experienced part time laundry aide in our Memory Care are of campus. The Memory care laundry aide is responsible for picking up washing, drying , folding and delivering laundry to residents and linen closets. Keeping resident items clean and as stain free as possible. Maintaining cleaning schedules and other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Director.

Requirements

Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic, uses a cash register and make change.
Must Be able to make beds, bend, stoop, twist, push pull carts and other physical movements.
Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates.
Must be able to perform duties in a timely manner consistent with the needs of the residents, , and assigned schedules.
Must be able to understand and effectively support and apply DRV policies and procedures as they apply to circumstances that arise.
Must be able to communicate effectively with seniors, their guests and DRV staff members.
Must be able to work with chemicals safely.
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be able to work independently and as a team.
Must have good oral and verbal communication skills and have the ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
Must be able to appropriately prioritize and organize multiple tasks/projects.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully and pleasantly with residents, families, staff, community resources, visitors and the general public.
Must be highly customer service oriented and dedicated to providing superior hospitality and service at all times.
Must be able to project cheerfulness and enthusiasm, maintain a positive attitude and work as a productive member of the Village health care center.
Must maintain a professional appearance in compliance with facility personal appearance guidelines.
Must be able to read instructions, safety rules, manuals and resident rosters in English.
Must recognize multiple resident laundry needs and prioritized actions to meet those needs, including emergency situations.
Must be able to use problem solving skills.
Must follow guidelines and policies as outlined in employee policies and procedures handbook.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and fresh environment for residents and visitors.
Is responsible for the cleanliness of laundry rooms as assigned
Laundering of resident laundry, bed and terry linens,
making resident beds when needed or assigned.
Performs any of the essential housekeeping duties.
Ensures that all laundry is washed appropriately and delivered to resident rooms.
Perform cleaning duties in laundry rooms
Always follow safety regulations and always follow established infection control and chemical safety protocol.
Cleans and maintains assigned work areas and equipment.
Maintains and ensures resident items are delivered to the proper rooms and labelled.
Ensures adequate floor stock is maintained, and proper labeling/dating procedures are followed in storage areas. Properly labels and stores food items.
Ensures that all documentation and check lists are competed daily as assigned.
Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
Attends in-service training and education sessions assigned.
