Laundry Worker
About The Position
The Laundry Worker is responsible for collecting, sorting, and laundering soiled linen. This role also involves folding, sorting, and distributing clean linen, and mending linen as necessary. The individual should have a working knowledge of washers, dryers, sewing machines, and associated chemicals. Requirements
- Must be at least 17 years old and currently enrolled in high school or an equivalent educational program
- Has working knowledge of washers, dryers, sewing machine and associated chemicals
Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, and launder soiled linen
- Fold, sort, and distribute clean linen
- Mend linen as necessary
- Load and unload washers and dryers
- Clean lint traps
- Pick up soiled laundry, at times weighing 40 lbs
- Multi-task folding linen, pulling dryers, and refilling
- Fold laundry according to departmental policy and procedure
- Properly load carts with clean linen and deliver it to designated departments
- Maintain an adequate supply of linen for daily use to all departments
- Clean and sanitize equipment daily, including linen carts and tables
- Maintain a clean safe working environment
- Demonstrate punctuality in arrival and departure, and compliance with break and meal times
- Operate commercial washers and dryers
- Operate folder machine
