About The Position

Assist in the operation of the laundry as required (washer/dryer, sorting, ironing, folding, see job descriptions).

Requirements

  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a hotel environment.
  • Able to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervision.
  • Adhere to safety, rules, and company policies.
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques, and industrial laundry machinery.
  • Ability to communicate in the English language (Second language is a plus).
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be physically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 100 pounds.
  • Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift (up to 8 hours)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous housekeeping/laundry experience preferred.
  • High school diploma preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to work in proper uniform and nametag.
  • Safe operation of hotel transportation equipment.
  • Pick up dirty linen from the floors.
  • Making sure all carts are placed in the Linen Closets in a neat and organized fashion.
  • Delivering Pool Towels as quickly as possible when requested.
  • Assist with the operation of the laundry as required: washing, drying, sorting, folding etc.
  • Promptly reporting all mechanical malfunctions to the Executive Housekeeper or Laundry Supervisor.
  • Adheres to recycling program.
  • Greets guests immediately with friendly and sincere acknowledgment.
  • Displays a professional image at all times through appearance, dress and conduct.
  • Maintains and adheres to our company values.
  • Upholds and follows company's policies and procedures.
  • Notifies Executive Housekeeper or Laundry Supervisor when leaving work area.
  • Follows all daily projects as assigned.
  • Reports all maintenance issues, damaged or missing property.
  • Ensures that radio and telephone etiquette is followed.
  • Promptly returns all loss and found items.
  • Follows key control policy.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts.
  • Follows all safety standards such as Hazardous Communications, Blood Borne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Proper Lifting Techniques, Housekeeping Safety.
  • Other duties as assigned by a member of management.
