About The Position
The role of the Laundry Valet Attendant involves traveling to guest rooms to pick up clothing that needs service. The attendant ascertains the time completed goods are required, counts the items, and provides the guest with a completed receipt. They mark guest clothing for identification, sort items for appropriate action (washing, dry cleaning, pressing, or repair), and process the clothing using the correct equipment, temperature, and chemicals. Once processed, the attendant folds or hangs the clothing as desired and delivers it to the guest at the requested time. Additionally, the attendant sorts employee uniforms for appropriate action and processes them either on-site or sends them to a third party for processing. The attendant operates and maintains washers, dryers, dry cleaning machines, pressers, and irons, reporting any problems or deficiencies to the manager. They assist the Housekeeping Management team in processing regular uniforms and maintaining proper linen par stock, ensuring all chemicals and operating supplies are well stocked. The role requires harmonious and professional interaction with co-workers and supervisors, and the attendant may carry out other related duties as specified by their supervisor.
