The Laundry Technician will perform day to day tasks to maintain a clean environment in a health care organization. This role involves working independently or in a team environment to ensure the safe and appropriate handling of laundry, including sorting, washing, and applying chemicals as necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to use a computer.
• Prior cleaning experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods used in cleaning.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record may be required depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned tasks based on location's standard processes and policies.
• Follow infection prevention guidelines for handling contaminated laundry.
• Participate in laundry collection and sorting.
• Handle, store, and distribute clean laundry properly.
• Collect dirty linens from wards, rooms, and medical offices.
• Distribute clean and disinfected linens.
• Wash, dry, fold linens, sort and fold clothing, and label properly.
• Store and secure laundry supplies and equipment.
• Use proper protective equipment (PPE) as outlined in standard processes.
• Engage in physical activities including lifting, balancing, walking, and handling materials.
