This position involves performing day-to-day tasks to maintain a clean environment in a healthcare organization, working independently or in a team to ensure the safe and appropriate handling of laundry.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to use a computer.
• Prior cleaning experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods used in cleaning is helpful.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record (depending on location).

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned tasks based on location's standard processes and policies.
• Follow infection prevention guidelines for handling contaminated laundry.
• Participate in laundry collection and sorting.
• Handle, store, and distribute clean laundry properly.
• Collect dirty linens from wards, rooms, and medical offices.
• Distribute clean and disinfected linens.
• Wash, dry, fold linens, sort and fold clothing, and complete proper labeling.
• Store and secure laundry supplies and equipment.
• Use proper protective equipment (PPE) as outlined in standard processes.
• Engage in physical activities including lifting, balancing, walking, and handling materials.
