About The Position

SALAMANDER MIDDLEBURG IS A TRIPLE FIVE STAR RESORT LOCATED IN THE BEAUTIFUL EQUESTRIAN TOWN OF MIDDLEBURG; VA IS SEEKING AN EXPERIENCED SUPERVISOR FOR OUR LAUNDRY DEPARTMENT.

The Laundry Supervisor oversees the daily operation of the department. Trains and coaches Laundry Service Professionals to reach service standards and maintain quality assurance, as established by leadership.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Oversees the day-to-day operation of Laundry.
Serves as a liaison to operational departments, as established by leadership.
Promote team spirit and encourage excellence in 5-star standards. Works one-on-one with Laundry Service Professionals to coach, train, and develop staff.
Implements monitoring and scoring of team to achieve quality assurance standards and provides regular feedback.
Oversee maintenance, cleanliness, and condition of laundry facility.
Implements daily process, procedures, workflow and checklists.
Ensure laundry equipment is maintained and used as directed.
Assist the Manager with scheduling according to business needs.
Assist the Manager with planning monthly departmental meetings.
Assist the Manager with leading interactive daily line-ups.
Assist Housekeeping Department as needed to include inspecting guest rooms, opening Housekeeping, and assigning daily work and projects as needed.
Serve as MOD of Housekeeping and laundry.
Follow all service standards according to Five Star and Five Diamond standards.
Provide accurate and thorough information on the resort’s accommodations, promotions, services, and amenities.
Communicate effectively with guests and other departments.
Attend daily line-ups.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Two years related experience and/or training in laundry operation and/or housekeeping; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2 years minimum in a 5 Star or 5 Diamond luxury hotel preferred.
• Must have exceptional interpersonal, clear verbal and written communication skills. Second language is preferred.
• Candidate must have attention to detail, be able to multi-task, must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and be a team player.
• Position requires flexibility in scheduling, must be able to work AM/PM, weekends & holidays.

• Second language is preferred.
