About The Position

The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the team of laundry attendants, achieving operational objectives, and ensuring that quality controls are in place. The position requires working hard, helping fellow teammates, servicing guests, and having fun. No laundry or supervisory experience is necessary, as training will be provided.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Works alongside Laundry Attendants to include washing, drying, sorting, folding and organizing terry & linens.
  • Oversees the daily operations of the laundry facility, ensuring that quality controls and safety policies are in place.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the linen area.
  • Assists the Stateside Housekeeping & Laundry Manager with various tasks, including verifying laundry requests for each Resort department.
  • Ensures that filled linen carts are placed in designated areas.
  • Orders laundry supplies and monitors laundry scheduling needs according to occupancy levels.
  • Participates in ongoing training for laundry team members.
  • Reports equipment issues to the Maintenance Department and to the Stateside Housekeeping & Laundry Manager.
  • Assists in yearly inventory of linen and maintains an accurate count of discarded linens.
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others and supports the team to reach common goals.
  • Identifies, recommends, develops, and implements new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost-savings.
