What We’re Looking For A skilled and detail-oriented Laundry Seamstress who ensures all uniforms, linens, and fabric items meet Loews’ high standards of quality and presentation. You’ll perform alterations, repairs, and sewing tasks, maintain inventory of sewing supplies, and collaborate with Laundry and Housekeeping teams to keep garments and textiles in top condition. Requirements

  • Minimum of six (6) months of experience as a seamstress, tailor, or in garment alterations is preferred.
  • Basic English communication skills are preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Must have excellent customer service and hospitality skills.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, bend and walk during entire shift.
  • Able to pull, lift and push up to 50 lbs during shift.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform alterations and repairs on team member uniforms, guest linens, and specialty fabrics.
  • Replace zippers, buttons, hooks, and fasteners; hem garments and adjust sizes as needed.
  • Repair tears, seams, and worn areas on linens and upholstery covers.
  • Ensure all work meets brand standards for appearance and durability.
  • Maintain sewing machines and tools in good working condition; report malfunctions promptly.
  • Track and replenish sewing supplies (thread, needles, fasteners) to avoid shortages.
  • Organize completed items for delivery to Uniform Room or Laundry distribution.
  • Inspect garments and linens for defects before and after repairs; document work completed.
  • Follow safety protocols for equipment use and chemical handling when applicable.
  • Uphold Loews Hotels’ standards for cleanliness, presentation, and guest/team member satisfaction.
  • Preserve the livelihood and reputation of the property by complying with legal policies and requirements.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
  • Required to attend/complete all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
  • May be required to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays to reflect business needs.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
