About The Position

As an integral part of a team, is responsible for continuously looking for ways to improve each guest’s experience from providing exceptional guest service to remove wrinkles and shape garments. The Presser will ensure all items are pressed to the highest standards to meet guest expectations of quality and uniform cleaning quality standards

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
• Any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position
• Ability to anticipate guest needs; respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.
• Ensure familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
• Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
• Provide legible communication and directions.
• Ability to: Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
• Prioritize and organize
• Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
• Follow directions thoroughly.
• Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team, flexible shifts and days off
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to stand/walk for up to 5-8 hours throughout work shift.
• Maintain stationary position for up to 2-6 hours throughout work shift.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of pressing machines (i.e. utility presser, pants topper and legger presser, hot head presser, steam finisher) to smooth and shape clothing and other items, such as linens, draperies, and uniforms.
• Keep all machines clean and safe for operation, checking for any defects in equipment and keeping equipment well lubricated for easy adjustment.
• Identify articles in need of spotting.
• Placing all finished garments on hangers and sending to assemble section.
• Ensure area is clean and organized.
• Assist in folding guest clothes in the Laundry baskets when necessary.
• Perform all other duties as may be required or assigned.
