About The Position

The Laundry Aide is responsible for providing clean, sanitary linens and personal clothing for residents and facility use. This role supports infection control standards and ensures residents’ comfort, dignity, and well-being through proper handling and processing of laundry.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment.
Ability to read labels and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Frequent lifting (up to 30–50 pounds).
Ability to bend, push, pull, and reach throughout the shift.
Tolerance for heat and humidity in laundry work areas.

Nice To Haves

Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred, especially in healthcare or long-term care settings.
Knowledge of infection control procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute facility linens and residents’ personal clothing.
Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
Follow proper infection control, safety, and sanitation procedures.
Separate contaminated or soiled laundry according to facility policy.
Label and organize residents’ clothing to prevent loss or mix-ups.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area.
Monitor laundry supplies and report shortages to supervisor.
Assist with minor mending or repairs of linens and clothing as needed.
Follow all OSHA and facility safety guidelines.
Respond promptly and courteously to staff and resident requests.
