About The Position

The position involves performing a variety of general laundry and housekeeping/cleaning duties to provide quality laundry service and to maintain the nursing home in a sanitary manner, free from offensive odors. The essential duties include making available a quantity of clean linen for the proper care and comfort of all residents, maintaining all linen in good repair, and removing any linen with holes and/or stains from service. The employee will collect laundry from residents daily or as needed, label new residents' clothing items, sort, treat, wash, dry, and fold clothing and linens, and deliver clean laundry items to resident rooms. The employee must follow all sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties and maintain an inventory of laundry supplies while using all laundry equipment and supplies in a safe manner. Any issues with laundry equipment should be reported to the Administrator.

Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma.
  • 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry/housekeeping procedures.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and seek assistance when needed.
