About The Position

We are currently hiring for a FULL TIME Pack Room Laundry Worker to join our team! Schedule: Monday-Friday with Saturday and Sunday off Hours: 6:00AM- 2:30PM with mandatory overtime JOB DESCRIPTION: Inspects clean, dry linen for stains, holes or Sorts all clean, dry surgical linen into designated Folds doctor's gowns, surgical towels, wrappers and/or surgical drapes after inspection is Places unusable linen into correct bin for rewash, repair or Inspects pre-folded linen for flaws or Assembles surgical pack items per list of required Wraps and labels surgical Stamps inspection number in designated area on pack Places prepared packs into cart(s) for Folds surgical linen for packs, as Other duties as KNOWEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Basic knowledge of safety standards. Proactive and self-motivated, with an attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to work and communicate in a richly diverse environment. Good communication skills. Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift. Perform repetitive motions throughout the shift such as push, pull, and lift. Energetic, self-starter. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Basic ability to speak and understand English. Attendance is an essential function of the job. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk most of the day and also required to repeat motions to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must constantly push and pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Fast-paced production environment - non-climate-controlled environment. Union environment with diverse workforce with multiple languages. Seven days per week operation - weekends required - nights may be required.
