Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be able to get along with co-workers, and work as a team.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and count to at least 50.
- Must be available to work any day of the week and any shift.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift at least 50 pounds, carry, push/pull, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, talk, and hear.
- Manual dexterity to include handling linen and garments.
- Ability to differentiate variations in color.
Responsibilities
- Loads and unloads washers per machine guidelines.
- Loads and unloads dryers per machine guidelines.
- Stretches tangled sheets.
- Runs towels through towel folder.
- Manually folds towels and bedspreads.
- Runs sheets through the ironer at the recommended speed.
- Catches (collects) sheets and other linen at the back and stacks them in appropriate carts.
- Sorts and soaks stained linen and terry in soaking bins.
- Watches and reports malfunctioning problems with all equipment.
- Transports linen and terry from sort and storage location to washers.
- Understands how to safely use all equipment at the required productivity level.
- Cleans lint from all machines in use during and at the end of shift.
- Cleans working area regularly.
- Works as a team with coworkers.
- Keeps positive attitude at all times.
