Position Details We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to support daily laundry operations for our nursing home and hospital. This essential role ensures clean, safe, and properly distributed linens that contribute directly to the health, dignity, and comfort of our patients and residents. The Laundry Attendant is responsible for collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, labeling, and delivering linens and resident clothing in a timely and organized manner. This position will also include scheduled housekeeping hours at the nursing home to assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to successfully pass a background study through the Minnesota Department of Human Services

Responsibilities

  • Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, label, and deliver linens and resident clothing in a timely manner
  • Maintain proper infection control, hazardous waste disposal, and safety standards
  • Operate, clean, and maintain laundry equipment; use chemicals safely
  • Maintain organized workflow and adequate linen back stock
  • Perform housekeeping duties at the nursing home, including cleaning and sanitizing resident rooms and common areas
  • Replenish supplies and maintain clean, organized workspaces
  • Report equipment issues, supply needs, or quality concerns
  • Collaborate with nursing, housekeeping, and other departments to support patient and resident care
  • Attend required trainings and follow all department policies and procedures
