The Facilities Group National is looking for an energetic Laundry Attendant to support our clients’ linen and laundry operations. You will be responsible for sorting, washing, drying, finishing (folding/pressing), and staging linens to company standards for quality, safety, and productivity. The ideal candidate has prior laundry, housekeeping, or production experience and is comfortable working around heat, humidity, and moving machinery. This position is based in an aeronautics/ space manufacturing facility.

Requirements

  • Prior commercial laundry, housekeeping, or production line experience. (Preferred)
  • Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast‑paced, production environment.
  • Reliable, safety‑minded, and able to follow written SOPs and verbal instructions.
  • Comfortable working around heat/humidity and operating basic laundry equipment.
  • Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs frequently; stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent (preferred).
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. – We Use E‑Verify.

Responsibilities

  • Sort incoming linens by type, colorfastness, soil level, and client specifications; check pockets and remove foreign items.
  • Operate commercial washers, dryers, and finishing equipment (e.g., flatwork ironers, folders) per standard operating procedures.
  • Pre-treat stains and use appropriate chemicals and water temps to meet quality and hygiene standards.
  • Load/unload machines safely; monitor cycle times, chemical feed, and machine performance; promptly report issues.
  • Inspect finished items for quality (cleanliness, appearance, tears) and rewash or mend per guidelines.
  • Fold, count, label, and bundle linens; stage orders according to client requirements.
  • Maintain accurate counts, lot separation, and basic inventory of chemicals and supplies; restock as needed.
  • Keep work areas clean and hazard‑free; sweep, mop, and remove debris; follow 5S/housekeeping standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use and safe chemical handling; adhere to infection control protocols when handling healthcare linens.
  • Complete tasks on time with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with team members and leads.
  • Perform minor equipment and lint‑trap maintenance; escalate mechanical issues to supervisors.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.
