The Laundry Attendant is responsible for providing a constant supply of clean linen for dining rooms and residence floors, as well as cleaning residents’ personal items according to specific instructions. This role also involves maintaining select associate uniforms by accurately tracking them.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must possess a passion for working with the senior population and improving their quality of life
  • Oral and written comprehension and expression - Must be able to convey and understand information and ideas in English
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from multiple sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular situation
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers, residents and guests
  • Ability to stand for long hours and walk long distances without fatigue
  • Ability to bend, stretch, stoop and reach repeatedly without difficulty
  • Exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently or constantly, to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels
  • Utilize technology as a means of communication necessary to support resident needs and ensure operational compliance as well as resident safety and security

Responsibilities

  • Providing a constant supply of clean linen for the dining rooms and residence floors
  • Cleaning residents’ personal items
  • Following specific instructions for laundering and drying personal items
  • Maintaining select associate uniforms by accurately tracking uniforms laundered in house or dry-cleaned
