About The Position

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Laundry Attendant for the Hilton Harrisburg in Harrisburg, PA. MAINTAIN A CONSTANT SUPPLY OF CLEAN LINENS FOR THE HOTEL.

Requirements

  • ABILITY TO ARRIVE TO WORK ON TIME AND WHEN SCHEDULED.
  • ABILITY TO STAND ON FEET FOR UP TO 7 HOURS A DAY AND WORK IN A FAST-PACED ENVIRONMENT.
  • ABILITY TO OPERATE WASHER AND DRYER EQUIPMENT.
  • PHYSICALLY ABLE TO MOVE / LIFT, LARGE, HEAVY OBJECTS SUCH AS: LINEN, LINEN CARTS AND/OR BAGS OF LINEN.
  • PHYSICALLY ABLE TO OPERATE CLEANING EQUIPMENT SUCH AS: BROOMS, SPRAY BOTTLES.
  • ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH GUESTS AND TEAM MEMBERS VERBALLY OR IN WRITTEN FORM, OVER THE PHONE OR IN PERSON.
  • ABILITY TO LEARN, FOLLOW AND ENFORCE STANDARDS FOR CLEANLINESS AS THEY APPLY TO THE LAUNDRY AREA.
  • ABILITY TO FOLLOW ALL SAFETY PROCEDURES/STANDARDS AND ABLE TO RECOGNIZE AND ACT IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS.
  • HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT PREFERRED.
  • NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

  • PERFORM ALL STAGES OF LINEN PROCESSING (I.E., SORTING AND WEIGHING SOILED AND UNSOILED LINEN, LOADING AND UNLOADING WASHERS AND DRYERS, FOLDING AND STORING LINEN, RECORDING POUNDAGE PRODUCED AND WEIGHING INCOMING AND OUTGOING LAUNDRY.)
  • ASSIST IN LAUNDRY INVENTORIES.
  • CLEAN LAUNDRY AREA. SET UP HOUSE ATTENDANT AMENITIES FOR PICK UP.
  • ASSIST WITH THE UPKEEP OF BASEMENT HALLWAY AND STAFF ELEVATOR.
  • CLEAN LAUNDRY MACHINE.
  • KEEP WORK AREA NEAT AND ORGANIZED.
  • REPORT ALL MECHANICAL PROBLEMS AND HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS TO SUPERVISOR, MANAGER OR SECURITY DEPARTMENT.
  • ALL TEAM MEMBERS MUST MAINTAIN A NEAT, CLEAN AND WELL-GROOMED APPEARANCE (SPECIFIC STANDARDS AVAILABLE).
  • ASSIMILATE INTO THE HILTON FAMILY PRIDE/CARE CULTURE THROUGH UNDERSTANDING, SUPPORTING AND PARTICIPATING IN ALL ELEMENTS OF PRIDE/CARE. DEMONSTRATE WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF THE SERVICE STANDARDS. REGULAR ATTENDANCE IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE STANDARDS, WHICH MAY BE ESTABLISHED BY HILTON FROM TIME TO TIME, IS ESSENTIAL TO THE SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF THIS POSITION.
  • THE HOSPITALITY BUSINESS FUNCTIONS SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, TWENTY-FOUR HOURS A DAY. IN ADDITION, THIS IS A HOSPITALITY BUSINESS AND A HOSPITABLE SERVICE ATMOSPHERE MUST BE PROJECTED AT ALL TIMES.
  • UPON EMPLOYMENT, ALL EMPLOYEES ARE REQUIRED TO FULLY COMPLY WITH HILTON RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE SAFE AND EFFICIENT OPERATION OF HOTEL FACILITIES. EMPLOYEES WHO VIOLATE HOTEL RULES AND REGULATIONS WILL BE SUBJECT TO DISCIPLINARY ACTION, UP TO AND INCLUDING TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT.
