Laundry Attendant
About The Position
Sort soiled articles following prescribed methods and procedure. Utilize commercial laundry equipment to process (Wash, Dry, Iron, Fold) room and table linen by following prescribed methods and procedures. Informs the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager of any deviations from the prescribed methods and procedures regarding the receipt of soiled linen from the rooms or food and beverage department Maintains the proper supply of cleaning materials Cleans dryer filters and washer drain filters Keeps the laundry area clean and orderly at all times Stores the stocking room linen as instructed Reports any laundry equipment malfunctions promptly to the Housekeeping Manager or Supervisor Maintains a clean, pleasant, and neat image May fill in as a Housekeeper when needed Maintains a clean supplies storage room and restocks as necessary Other tasks as needed by Management. Safety Responsibilities and Requirements: Performs job responsibilities and operates equipment according to the company safety and training programs Reports safety or hazard concerns to management Reports any on the job injury to management Takes personal responsibility for safety every day
Requirements
- Laundry or housekeeping experience preferred
- Congenial personality; able to interact well with others
- Able to bend, stretch and lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis
- Able to work well without constant supervision
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time up to 90% of the time
- Able to withstand varying weather conditions
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Ability to climb and descend stairs on a regular basis
