About The Position

Adara Living is one of the largest long term care facilities in the state of Colorado and looking to grow the housekeeping and laundry department. We are looking for a Full Time Laundry Assistant to assist in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards by efficiently managing laundry operations within the facility. This position ensures that all linens and other washable items are cleaned, dried, folded, and prepared for use in a timely and organized manner. The Laundry Assistant contributes to the overall operational flow by adhering to safety protocols and using laundry equipment correctly to prevent damage to items and machinery. This role requires attention to detail to identify stains or damages and report any issues promptly. Ultimately, the Laundry Assistant supports the facility’s commitment to providing a clean and comfortable environment for staff, clients, or residents through diligent laundry management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate standard laundry equipment safely and effectively.
  • Basic understanding of laundry processes and fabric care.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a commercial or institutional laundry setting.
  • Familiarity with industrial laundry chemicals and safety protocols.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and supply ordering.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Sort laundry items according to color, fabric type, and washing requirements to prevent damage and ensure optimal cleaning.
  • Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently following manufacturer guidelines.
  • Monitor laundry cycles and adjust settings as needed to achieve the best cleaning results while conserving resources.
  • Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, stains, or damage and perform additional treatments or report issues as necessary.
  • Fold, organize, and store clean laundry items in designated areas to maintain order and facilitate easy distribution.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including routine cleaning of machines and workspaces.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management by tracking laundry supplies and notifying supervisors when stock is low.
